Tarik

Tarik graduated from the University of Michigan, where

he received a Stamps NR-Dunlap Scholarship, with a

B.A. in Art & Design and a Bachelor in General Studies.

He is currently a candidate for a Masters of Fine Arts in

Creative Writing at the University of Minnesota where

he serves as the 2020 Scribe for Human Rights fellow.

He has received four Hopwood Awards, the 2020

Peseroff Prize, a 2020 Palette Poetry Spotlight Award, a

NATAS (MI) Student Emmy Award, and a young writers

fellowship from Bucknell University. Tarik has served as

a writing instructor at Inside Out Literary Arts, the

University of Minnesota, and as a TA at Northwestern

University’s NHSI summer film program. He also served

as a 2020 National Juror for the Scholastic Writing

Awards.
